Come out of Bablyon

about

"I heard another voice from heaven, saying, "Come out of her, my people, that you have no participation in her sins, and that you don't receive of her plagues..."

- Revelation 18:4

In Biblical prophecy, Babylon represents the worldly system, the sum of man's pride and selfish desires. It's a system in which all seek to "make a name for themselves" (Gen 11:3), where wealth, power, and personal glory are more important than godliness, peace, and Love. This song is a call to the faithful, to remember that our treasure is in heaven, and to re-evaluate our participation in Babylon.

lyrics

Are you sleeping brother John?
Hell's bells a'been ringing, thought I heard you a'singing along.
You know the torches are burning, now; and the swords are drawn.
They drug a line in the sand, tell me what side are you standing on?

Well, It's not so dark in the sack-cloth skies
To see the blood-red moon, and she's on the rise.
So what's it gonna take for His people to awake?

All of God's children come on,
Come out of Babylon
Set your hearts on a treasure that'll never fade away.
Sing Hallelujah along
The road to Zion
Are we finally living in the dawn of the end of days? Who can say?
I don't know...

But Jehovah-Shua -- he came and he died.
He's coming back some day to take away a spotless bride.
How the lightning's gonna flash when he returns,
And all the godless gonna watch and weep while the City burns.

It's not so hard o'er the planet's roar
To hear the still small voice cutting like a sword
Saying "What's it gonna take
For My people to awake?"

All of God's children come on,
Come out of Babylon
Set your hearts on a treasure that'll never fade away.
Sing Hallelujah along
The road to Zion
Are we finally living in the dawn of the end of days? Who can say?
I don't know...

Come on, Come out, don't share in her sin.
Come out today don't wait for the end to begin.
Come on Come out don't share in her doom.
Come out today, for the End is coming soon.
