To truly believe is more than just giving assent to claims. It is living ones life as though those claims were undeniably true. If one accepts the claims of the Gospels, what can one give to God but everything?
I wrote this song as a reminder to myself to not merely study the God's truth, but to live it each day!
lyrics
I could theorize about theology
Exposit my views on eschatology.
But if you should browser through my biography
Would you see what He means to me?
I could give defense for all my "isms";
Epistemologically build a Catechism.
But what's the use of doctrinal precision
If it's out of rhythm with the life that I've been living?
All my heart and all my mind,
All my strength for all my life.
All that I've been living for:
Is it mine, or, Jesus, is it yours?
We could chew the meat and gnaw on the gristle.
We could exegete our way through all of Paul's epistles.
When it simply comes to doing His will
Are all my skills merely Dixie being whistled?
All my heart and all my mind,
All my strength for all my life.
All that I've been living for:
Is it mine, or, Jesus, is it yours?
Some got the faith, and some got the doin';
Some run the race, and some run to ruin.
Keep me off the wide road, crushed beneath a dead load.
Take my burdens, set your yoke on me.
All my heart and all my mind,
All my strength for all my life.
All that I've been living for:
Tell me, master Jesus, is it yours?
